URGE THE GA: END TRANSCRIPT WITHHOLDING, PASS SB 159
SB 159 would ban public colleges and universities in Virginia from withholding transcripts from students with university debt. Transcript withholding disproportionately harms low-income students who are unable to pay their balance until completing their degree and gaining employment. Public universities – which often have substantial endowments – should not be holding back students who are dealing with financial hardship.
SB 159 will be heard in House Education on Monday, 2/28 at 8 a.m. Help us let students with debt move forward by urging the General Assembly to support SB 159!
