Educational Outreach

As part of the legal aid community, have always been committed to ensure that low-income individuals understand the rights afforded to them under the law. Understanding your rights can be half the battle when dealing with civil legal issues. We strive to provide presentations, and access to information about the law to those who just want to know their rights, or for those who cannot afford representation in civil legal matters, so that they can represent themselves.

Along with the legal aid programs across Virginia, we maintain www.valegalaid.org a website dedicated to keeping those who may have to represent themselves or who simply want to know aspects of civil law, materials and explanations of civil legal issues most often faced by legal aid clients. VPLC staff is also available to speak to groups and other organizations about poverty law, specific issue topics, and legislative advocacy.
