Before working with legal aid, Randi was stuck, trapped in a toxic marriage. Legal aid provided Randi the tools and resources she needed to file for divorce. After her divorce, she moved to Ohio and was working as a security guard when her mother in Virginia needed help. Randi moved back to Wise County but has yet to find employment. She wants to work as a highway flagger but says the company will not hire women. Randi continues to seek employment but meanwhile works tirelessly in her garden, growing much of their food during the summer: green beans, pumpkin, green and jalapeño peppers, cucumbers, and corn.
