Tiffany, like many individuals, did not understand the debt trap of payday lending. She contacted VPLC’s Predatory Lending Helpline to seek advice on how best to proceed after she realized the interest was compiling more quickly than she could pay back the original amount. Tiffany was able to pay off the loan by borrowing money from a friend. Tiffany currently lives in Washington DC and works as a nanny while she works on a script she hopes will one day become a movie.
