PROTECT CHILDREN IN FOSTER CARE: TELL THE GA TO SUPPORT PILOT PARENT REPRESENTATION CENTERS

Two budget amendment items, BA Item 345 #9s from Senator Edwards and #5h from Delegate Kilgore, would create pilot parent representation centers for parents involved in foster care proceedings. Multiple states that already have these centers have found they improve outcomes for children in foster care while saving money due to shortening the time children spend in foster care. For parents working hard to get their children back, these centers can help keep families together. When parents are not appropriate, providing better legal representation actually increases the likelihood a child will be adopted in a timely fashion.

Help us protect children in foster care and urge the General Assembly to support pilot parent representation centers!
