Enrollment in health insurance through Virginia’s federally facilitated state marketplace, established by the Affordable Care Act, is continuing.
While open enrollment for 2014 ended on March 31, there are changes in status and other situations that allow people to enroll, according to Jill Hanken, director of Enroll Virginia!, an arm of the Virginia Poverty Law Center.
“We’re staying very busy,” said Heather Parsons, a navigator based in Hampton. “We’re seeing lots of graduates who’ve lost insurance through their schools, quite a few turning 26 who are unable to stay on their parents’ insurance, and people changing jobs.”
